Engineering Conferences Online (ECO) Link
ECO promotes the dissemination of important engineering research that would normally be very difficult, or impossible, to locate.
Papers are generally available free of charge on an open access basis thereby assisting the dissemination of this important research information.

Just thought I’d share a great guide for engineering students which may be useful. It’s a guide that has been designed to help engineering students find the right information quickly. There are lots of great links on here to all sorts of resources. The guide was compiled by Aslib, The Association for Information Management.
It has sections for General Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and much more.

HLC
There have been a few changes here in Harrison that you need to be aware of.
At the request of users, the third floor (excluding the IT Suite) has now been designated a SILENT STUDY AREA. As you enter the floor from the central stairs or the IT Suite , you will expected to remain silent, switch mobile phones to vibrate and be considerate of others users. Staff will be patrolling the floor regularly.
The group study rooms on third floor are now SINGLE STUDY ROOMS with a PC. These can be booked as normal at the Lending Services helpdesk on ground floor. You will be expected to study individually and in silence in these rooms.
New areas for group study will be available on the second floor, still allowing groups to study together.
Please take notice of the signs in Harrison advising of group or silent study areas.
For more information regarding these changes, please ask at the information helpdesks in the Learning Centre.

Respected journals, Building and Contract Journal, have great forums where you can chat to your peers and colleagues about what’s happening in the industry today. It can be a great way to find advice and simply stay up to date with the latest developments and news. They also regularly run competitions where you could win Amazon vouchers!

Construction News is now available to read online as well as print.
We have a subscription to Construction News which you can find in Harrison Learning Centre but you can now also read it digitally via the CN website. You can even capture digital images to use in your assignments (remember to reference where they came from though!).
The CN website also has a number of RSS feeds you may wish to subscribe to if you want to keep up-to-date with news.
